How is it possible to keep a DVD or game as long as you like with rental services?
I don’t lived in the States so i have never used a rental service such as Netflix or Gamefly. Just wanted to know…how is it possible to keep a DVD or game as long as you like with rental services without any form of late fee? How do they earn their money and is it possible to keep the DVD or game for a lifetime (in theory)?

How do filmmakers make money in the film industry?
One day I hope to study film and become a screenwriter/director. I don’t know much about the film industry quite yet, so that’s why I plan on getting into a good film program in college. I have only one concern: how do filmmakers such as producers, screenwriters, and directors make money from their films? How do independent filmmakers make money?

Is the movie industry really hurting due to piracy?
Piracy has taken a hit, but not enough to hear the movie industry whining. They have been ripping the public for years.
For example:
1 – The movie "Little Mermaid" made a chunk of cash in the theaters. It wasn’t a box office smash, but did fairly good!
2 – Theater release to other countries made millions more
3 – DVD releases made it more money
4 – DVD rentals made even more money
5 – Pay-Per-View made some cash
6 – Cable subscribers (Like HBO) pay for some
7 – Broadcast on Network TV with commercials for extra cash
8 – Ten years later, it is Re-released and newly mastered! And makes more money
9 – Remastered DVD sales and rentals
etc….. etc….
How many times can they take the same crappy movie and turn it into cash?

Is it practical to double major in film and journalism?
I have declared a double major in film and journalism in order to pursue avenues of work that I know I will enjoy but many people are telling me it is impractical to double major in two things that don’t significantly enhance the other major (such as Journalism and Broadcasting; Film & Broadcasting; Film & Photography; English and Film, etc.) Do you think that I will inevitably forego one field for the other and later on look back and believe that I wasted my money on school? Input? Advise? Has anyone else done this?

What are some cheap video editing soft wares that are also very good?
I make videos for YouTube. And I need a good video editing softwear. Right now im using Windows Movie Maker, and its hard to put words on the video without them being blurry.
I need to be able to trip video down and place words on them. Anything else I can figure out myself.
I don’t want to spend a load of money on the software because I don’t have that much to spare.
