I don’t want to do anything complicated, but I would like to edit some videos. I’m used to Macs, and now I have a PC with Moviemaker and I can’t figure out how to get it to do what I need it to. Essentially, I want to edit out dead footage and splice in some paintings and photography to a video I recorded of me singing.
I’d be really grateful for suggestions. Thx!

My ranking in tems of my opinion because i have just tried them all still not decided..but i’m really likeing the adobe lately but the cyberlink is just an alltogether packege more better suited for your needs..Anyway I have a link to a site below have a look….Mat
1-Cyberlink power director
2-Adobe premeire elements
3-Corel video studio
4-Sony vegas studio
5-Pinnacle
The rest are not that good at all, these are the home consumer type additions, while most have pro additions you don’t need to try them as they are too involved……..Ren

You can check out trakaxPC, which we’ve just recently released – it’s completely free (no trial/catches etc.)
It’s simple drag and drop technology, so perfect for beginners to experiment and have fun creating music, video and photo slideshow mixes without a steep learning curve. However, there are advanced features such as beat-matching etc., so you can find a level to suit your capabilities. You can cut samples, remix tracks, change tempos, create slideshows, create & edit videos, record in directly from your mic etc. Check out the site for a full range of reviews.
We also provide libraries of royalty-free loops & beats that will help you in creating new and unique tracks – they’re really cheap, so worth checking out:
.
Good Luck with the music, video and photo slideshow mixing!

You may take a look at this website, it collects many free video editing software, I’m sure you will find one you need.
Or you may try this all-in-one video editor, my friends recommend it to me, it’s not free, but it’s easy to use and works pretty well for me, it embeds many special effects. I had made a video with it and the video got award, that’s pretty cool.
Hope it helps. Contact me if you have any other question or use http://www.wikianswer.com to search more answers.

I had problems with movie maker too. It’s terrible….
For PC your totally best bet is Premier Pro and they have a free trail…
To see how to cut and edit like you want to do here is a free example on that software.
This will show you how to cut and edit….Totally cool and importing images is easy but they often have to be resized…
See how to change the size in these tutorials…
Although they show you how to resize text it is the same for an image…
Good luck on your movie
Maybe I can see it on youtube
