I’m looking to into either purchasing a fax machine (and the required home phone line), or into subscribing to an online/electronic fax service. Does anybody have personal experience with using online/electronic faxes, and if so, what are your recommendations?

I brought a fax machine it was only cheap from Goodwill. They also have a lot of them on there on-line auction website.
And if you have a land line it is a lot cheaper than subscribing to an on-line service.

Personally, I’m using the Popfax.com online fax service. They offer low sending rates, many applications and possibilities to fax from the web. By now, I’m satisfied with it. I don’t need a fax machine or phone line.

Hi Asha,
That seems to be the question
Great question…
The major advantages to faxing online are the following.
– no busy signals. the system will keep retrying for you until it gets through. This frees up your time.
– no paper jams. all faxes are delivered to you via email and you can simply attach documents to your email that you are sending from your computer.
– no extra phone line. I don’t know where you live, but a business phone line after the taxes, line charges, etc. that usually works out to about a $40/mo savings.
– no ink, toner, paper or fax machine to buy. Everything is handled for you online.
– portability. if you change apartments or houses, you don’t have to do anything to move your fax number. Your faxes will be right there in your email the next time you check it.
The list goes on and on…it really is a much better way to go.
