Guido Hulsens, recorder/flûte à bec ; Guy Penson, piano. Who might be the composer ? /// Ernesto Nazareth (1863-1934); Brazil. I heard this piece for the piano at first in 2002, played by the extraordinary and extravagant Argentinian piano player Alberto Neuman :
The score is on Google as « Freescore ». The right hand of the piano suits perfectly for the soprano recorder. You will just have to find a piano player able to improvise the accompaniment upon the bass line.
I didn’t think the recorder world would discover very quickly, after only one week, who did write the piece. That was without knowing GOB (Gruppo Ocarinistico Budriese), a fantastic ocarina ensemble, had « Cavaquinho » on his program. I highly recommend to discover this ocarina virtuosos.
