I wanted to buy a home cinema system but don’t know a whole lot about them. I have a new multi region dvd player so I wondered if it’s possible to somehow still be able to use it with the surround sound?

Just make sure the new system has at least one s/pdif AUX input (coax or optical), so that you can connect the digital audio output of your old player.

Shouldn’t be a problem. Just choose a system that doesn’t already have a DVD player, and that can handle all your equipment’s outputs.

If you are looking at one of those home theater in a box with a dvd or blu ray disc player included your chances of adding your dvd player is none. Home theater in a box are not flexible for any addition of equipment, but you might be able to connect an audio source to them. I would check the system you are interested to make sure that you can add other equipment to it. The best choice is a receiver and speaker system set like the Onkyo HT-S5200 or the HT-S6200. Hope this will help you out.

I dont truly know what you talking about right here. This cant be the only way to think about this can it? It appears like you know a lot, so why not explore it more? Make it a lot more accessible to everyone else who may not concur with you? Youd get a great deal a lot more individuals behind this should you just stopped making general statements.
