Everytime my family and I go to the movie theater, my dad misses out on the movie since he is deaf and we have to sign everything to him. I heard we have to call like 2 weeks in advance for the movies theater to do that? any truth in that? any suggestions?

Check the website of the individual theater ahead of time, and then call the number that they list and ask them! It probably differs for each theater, but I would guess that most have a subtitle option.

You just have to call around to different theatres near you and ask about what captioning options they have. A lot of theatres now have something called rear window captioning, which can send the text directly to the people in the audience who need it, while the rest of the audience doesn’t even know it’s there.
