We just rented a movie, made this year (if that matters). I want the movie to fill up all the tv screen. All the movie came in was wide screen edition. It doesn’t fill the screen completely so we see these black strips above and below the movie and it’s irritating. Is there a way to change the settings where we can get it to fill up the entire screen? Thank you!

No you can’t. You seek the "fullscreen edition". Make sure you rent that version next time.
I will say, however, one quick way to get over the big black lines above and below the picture is: Imagine you’re inside a movie theater. Imagine you are sitting just inside ur tv…imagine the black lines above and below the screen (which looks like a theater). That way, you can sorta imagine the picture is really big and wide. lol

You can zoom with your DVD remote. I don’t know why you would want full screen anyway. It cuts off the right and left edges of the screen so you can’t see the entire picture.

no, usually when you rent a dvd, you pick whether you want it in wide screen or not, it usually says right on the dvd cover….
