The movie follows a plethora of track masters in various stages of their careers including newcomer Justin “J Dot” Moyd, a 23 year college student who nears graduation, as he assembles his production center, works with aspiring recording artists and puts together his first professional demo package. If you care what program someone used to make a beat you’re a bonafide moron. Most of this is just producers explaining the struggle and sacrifice it takes to make music when you’re not know. Head Roc is also an actor starring in a movie based on this documentary. Green Tea musik now have major placements based on this documentary. I sample because I want to.. I play 7 different instrument fluantly which was not showcased in the documentary. Music is about the feelings. Dunces

@alohafromwaimea go to datpiff and look for “The Black Tea Album” And yes the grey album was sloppy as hell and the beatles samples were poor choices. The idea was great as I stated and I like danger mouse I didnt like that! Green Tea is established just not known and we don’t hate we have an opinions just like most people. But we see and mingle with the people we critique and don’t just talk wreckless on the internet or youtube. K Salaam

@alohafromwaimea In the film we voiced our standpoints as men. We’re lovers of good music and artistic expression, whether you agree or disagree. Everything that was stated was from the heart. Understand that we are producers, and everything publicly displayed on the stores of Music shelves doesn’t mean its hot…we’re men enough to voice our opinions and stand behind it. As a critic you should fully understand the power of opinion. you tube Produx Black Love. & datpiff- CarrotCake

@dontmesafrusciante Actually I began with two cassette decks and no mic (honestly) I would take a break beat, record it on one tape, duplicate between the next tape (like 27 times), then hold both radio players together and record vocals. I would make instruments sounds with my mouth for a bassline. (True Story) Record vocals rhyming through headphones hoooking the plug into the MIC channel. FL Studio then was a blessing, we came from nothing, so ofcourse we create everything from anything. RIC

@Taaffeman130 Preciate the comment man. Thanks for seeing the gift in us. We ask for no favors or handouts, and respect th love. Try to understand this documentary (even 9 months ago) was over 4 years old. Just the Grind of the director has finally found success and reviews from the great response via internet. Again appreciate the Love. you can Youtube Produx-Black Love..also download The CarrotCake Album at datpiff.com. One Love
PurpleBlack007 says
@3sleeves I honestly agree with you wholeheartedly. In our case, as a team we actually do both. We play instruments as well as “beatmaking”. As Most producers, we incorporate samples, in addition to playing live instrumentation, which the film didn’t get the opportunity to show on our behalfs. Ric (Green-Tea Musik/ Produx) ..youtube Produx-Black Love and also download The CarrotCake Album at datpiff.com.. 110

This film was created by one who saw the vision, the hunger, hustle & grind of some underground producers, and gave visual in film footage. It shows the grind of producers with experience to some with little or no experience. We were thanful to be a part of it. Being lovers of Hip-Hop, thank for giving light to MC and artform, thanks for having the heart and patience to film for those of us who LOVE anything having to do with, not only hip-hop, but Music in general. At this moment in time
PurpleBlack007 says
you gave us a voice that, yes many may not have heard so broad, before this documentary. Some critics need a “9th Wonder” to get the vision, but some of us began with 3 solid colors and made something outta nothing. We see the soul in it. No one did that for us prior to Laron Austin. thanks for all the comments and continue to post. Check out “The Battle”..also youtube Produx-Black Love.Download CARROTCAKE ALBUM at datpiff.com- RIC Green-Tea Musik. PEACE
