It’s like you verbally rape what Tinsletown does to us. I love that.

bit touchy this time huh? your always like this with the horror movie remakes. but you’ve done so many saying this stuff over and over that it’s better not to bother. Especally with the time you had you could’ve just done a review for it when you got the dvd or just pulled an “ask a ninja” and use clips of audio from your last remake reviews and only add a few lines to have it make sense.

you cant be better than the orignal…. because the original was a suprise… in the 80s you were scared because dying in your dreams… that was a new concept… now we knew what the deal was… so what ever i liked this movie…

i am (almost alway) agree with your opinions!
you allways make a really good deep look at the things you review before talking!
but this time around i have to desagree with you in just one thing!
when you talk about the remakes being worst (or regurgitations) that the originals!
in all the movies you mentioned you where absolutely right!
    all exept for one!
    THE HILLS HAVE EYES
    The hills have eyes???
C`mon! in my opinion it was beatiful
alexandre aja`s best work by now

@FCKundo Respect for defending your movie passion! I can see that. I did like many of the additions to the new one, while many elements from the original were in place. Thanks for speaking up!

@BrokenFWD Good points! I guess the same mistakes keep being made, and I guess the choice is to give up or keep speaking up…I’ll choose to fight till the end :) But with Freddy, the possibilities were even greater! Being in the dreamworld and all. And, he is my fav of the original slashers, so it was a bit personal. Thanks for speaking up!

@SpecterVonBaren Yeah, I am a bit. Freddy’s my fav and this could’ve been great instead of just barely acceptable.

@kazuya246 Good choice of words. Freddy is the one stealing souls and funny how this movie doesn’t have one.

@fourth1000 YES!!! David Lynch would’ve been the greatest choice ever! Wow. That’s awesome. And you’re right, Dark City’s lesson went unnoticed.

Here’s my bottom line. I hate horror movies and nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will force me to watch this movie or any of the others from the original series, even though technically I watched Freddy Vs. Jason due to curiosity and the fact is that ever since watching that, I know that every known horror movie from the past or in the distant future will be known as the worst. In other words, the horror genre can go F**K itself!

This is, probably, the best commentary on contemporary pop culture I’ve ever heard.

Well it seem’s that holloywood is now as you said in your review re-raping movies of the original franchises and as a matter of fact when has hollywood ever in a still screwed up economy ever made a good remake of the franchises we all loved growing up as kids and yeah to me this movie is by far the most freakin horribly remade movie that i haven’t seen and not planning to see ever not even as a rental!!!!

@moviepreviewcritic I could care less about this “unlubricated back alley violation” : ) but wanted to comment on the “david lynch mainstream film” idea – it does exist, its called: The Box by (Donnie Darko Writer/Director) Richard Kelly. its safe enough for the mainstream and crazy enough for Lynch fans. Do check it out.

@sinatrah Good recommendation! I’ve seen it and really like it. A nice mix of Twilight Zone meets Lynch. Though, I’d love it if a Lynch Freddy would be more Eraser Head/Mulholland Drive-ish. Good to hear from you! Hope all is well.

@moviepreviewcritic David Lynch is freaking genius. There’s a rumor is that he will going to make Mulholland Drive sequel. Just like Oliver Stone made Wall Street sequel staring Shia ‘nonononono’ Labeuf.

@moviepreviewcritic you’re welcome, but I’m just defending my fave horror movie icon. There’s only one Freddy and thats Mr.Robert Englund! like there’s only one voice of chucky and thats Brad Dourif!!!

i think the point is to bring horror into the 21st century
(plus in the the new nightmare on elm street movie, it was awesome with the sparks when freedy scrached his claws on a pipe somewhere in the movie)

What a wonderful weblog. I spend hours on the web reading through blogs, about tons of different subjects. I’ve to first of all give kudos to whoever produced your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an post. I honestly think there is a skill to writing articles that only several posses and frankly you have it. The combination of informative and quality content is definitely very rare using the large amount of blogs on the internet.
