I have some TV boxed sets that I watch quite frequently and while I am careful as I can with all my CDs and DVDs, I have had stuff become scratched in the past just from heavy use. If one of the disks in the boxed sets were to be scratched I’d have to buy the entire season again if I couldn’t get it resurfaced. How much did the video store charge you?

something you could do not having to pay others.
if you can pick up a disk doctor [they sell them at walmart, etc..] the take most of the scratches and scuff marks out if the label side is scratched so you could see light through it its gone.the disk doctor uses normal tap water to lubricate while it rubs the surface down then using a felt or soft cloth to polish it up. the work great i use it on cd – dvd – and games for computer. price about $37.00

i hear if you use nail polish remover or something and fill in the holes its fine if you keep it smooth with the surface of the disc

Nail Polish remove is lacquer thinner & damages plastics. It is also highly flammable. Practice on a dead cd first & be careful.

wal-mart sells a cover that fits on a dvd that stays on the disc even when it is being played. this will keep the dics from being damaged
