HBO And Its Hit Series For 2011 and Premium Television Channels
HBO, also known as “Home Box Office” is premium television channel from America. It primarily focuses on movies released to theaters or original series and is the second most subscribed to premium channel in America. While the bulk of HBO consists of movies, their original series are often met with much acclaim and rewards.
If you are looking for something a bit modern, then HBO and its hit series for 2011 might be something you will want to look into. While HBO does not release that many original series, the ones it does release are often widely popular. A good example of a hit series from 2011 would be Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones is a series based on the book series titled “A Song of Ice and Fire” and follows the events of the first book which was titled “Game of Thrones”. The series was critically acclaimed to such a degree that HBO renewed it for a second season just a few days after it’s premier. The show has been nominated for many rewards and has even won a lot of those.
The setting of Game of Thrones takes place is a fantasy medieval time period with various nobles from different countries vying for control as other threats lurk on the horizon. It is filled with intrigue and suspense with a dark tone, sometimes summed up as the Sapranos in Middle Earth.
Game of Thrones may not be for everyone though, so if you are looking for other HBO and its hit series for 2011 then there are still options available.
Some other notable series that have been well received are Luck and Enlightened, both released in 2011. The former only has two episodes out whereas the latter has ten. These two series are not as serious and dark as Game of Thrones, and are more suited for those looking for something a little lighter, especially Enlightened which is classed as a Comedic Drama.
A brief synopsis of Luck is that it follows a well to do criminal during the 60s. The Pilot starts off with him being released from federal prison and getting involved with horse racing. It might not be for everyone but those looking for a good drama could give it a shot as it has been well received by critics and viewers alike.
Enlightened, on the other hand, is about a business woman who lives a self destructive life style culminating in her personal life collapsing and her being sent to rehab. The show follows her on her road to recovery as she tries to piece her life back together. It is still a drama but it has it’s lighter moments if that is what you are looking for.
HBO and its hit series for 2011 made quite the splash in the television world with many of those series going on to win awards and all of them being well received by critics. If you are looking for an HBO series from 2011, the three above are good places to start.

The premise of the show is about a sociopath named Dexter who has an urge to kill. His adoptive father, a police officer, recognized this and taught Dexter a code to follow to help channel his urges. This code demands he only kill other killers and to prove with undeniable proof that his target is guilty.

Web Therapy focuses on a therapist who devises a new method to work with her patients through the use of webcams. She spends the series working with her patients in this manner and tries to show the therapist community that her method is actually viable.
As I stated above, it is a fairly light show with plenty of funny moments for those looking for a show they can just sit back and laugh about.
