Family Guy
One of the animated TV shows on the air is Family Guy. The show is somewhat related to the old sitcom, Archie. The show was created by Seth McFarland, and he has a reputation for thinking outside of the box and not doing things by the book.
The show involves Peter Griffin and his family. His lovely wife, dysfunctional kids, and their family dog. The show began being aired in 1999 and did very well. However, it was pulled from the FOX network after 3 seasons. However, the DVDs continued to sell well and viewers were contacting FOX to bring it back. When they introduced the Adult Swim programming, they put Family Guy back on the agenda.
Copyright infringement lawsuits have occurred with the Family Guy. One of them was by actress Carol Burnett after feeling she shouldn’t have been portrayed on that show without her permission. However, it was rejected due to it being a parody and protected under the rights of other laws.
McFarlane is the producer of the show, and works very closely with the team of writers. He occasionally will do some of the writing and plenty of editing. He is also the voice of Peter, Brian, and Stewie. Milia Kunis is the voice of Meg.
Family Guy has been involved in a variety of controversial issues based on the humor they share. It isn’t for everyone, and parents are encouraged to watch it before they decide if they would allow their kids to also watch it.
A recent buzz was created when the Family Guy dog, Brian, was killed. A petition to bring him back was heavily circulating through social media. The writers did bring Brian back, but said that was their original plan all along. There is no way to confirm that, but it does anger many fans who feel the death may have been a plot to increase ratings for the show.
