A friend and I are working on a hilarious video project. We need to be able to take footage of a subject and put it into an existing video file… IE, replacing Godzilla with footage of a person from somewhere like youtube. I believe Final Cut will do so, but I don’t have experience editing video and was wondering if anyone out there had any pointers?

To be honest, this is the sort of thing which requires experience of video editing to achieve. The best thing to do is to start following some online tutorials and try some basic editing before you start getting into special effects. If you have no experience in video editing, then you’re not going to be able to create an effect like this straight away. If you have Final Cut, then it might be worth investing in the Apple Pro Training series books, which include tutorials on how to use the software, from the basics onwards. Also, check out this guy on Youtube for some excellent tutorials on various aspects of creating videos with Final Cut Studio:
