I have a Toyota Sienna and the radio works great when tuning in to normal radio signals. I go to a local drive-in cinema and it appears that I really have to drive around several spots to find a good signal as most of the spaces appear to cause my radio static. Why is that? I don’t think it’s my radio cause the normal stations work fine and clean with no static. There are other vehicles that go to the drive-in too, but they seem to have a wider area of parking without experiencing the static issue I am having with my radio.
Would appreciate any good suggestions to eliminate or decrease the static when tuning in to a station broadcasted at the drive-in cinema.

Try a battery powered radio (like a portable radio or boom box) to see if it does the same. If so then your car radio is ok, if the portable radio works good then you will need a better antenna on your vehicle. Do you have one of those windshield antenna, that are built right into the front windshield? If so then mount a regular antenna and hook it up to the car radio.
