I am 14 and I want to be a Movie Director when I get older. I have been looking at cameras for a while now and have bought quite a few, but none have worked well enough. My friends and I make videos for contests and I’ve been trying to introduce myself to the directing world.
Im looking for a camera that is within a reasonable price range, also any video editing software tips would be nice too. I would like to buy a camera that takes pictures and records video, but a camcorder would be fine too.

Gotta agree with Kitty, those handcams are the jam! BUt for a 15 year old?The question is really the quality of the editing bay. If you can get an extra Hard Drive or two just for your editing quality, you can make something that looks like it was made in the late 90’s for less than 100 bucks. And the fidelity of mid 90’s video isn’t bad, it’s just that all the home capture software for it sucks! So invest in a nice capture software and get an old cam to mess around with, and i dunno, save the 1000 dollars for college? or a class or two?
