The Other Woman
The Other Woman was released in April of 2014, and has some sensational stars in it. The main character is played by Cameron Diaz. She is a smart attorney and falls for a good looking businessman. The problem is that she later discovers he has a wife, and another girl friend. She learns this when his wife comes to her office.
Instead of just getting mad, the women decide to get even. They become friends and they plot their revenge. They leave the man, played by Nikola Coster-Waldau, exhausted, overwhelmed, and broke. It is discovered by the women that is has been involved in illegal business transactions – and his wife will take the fall for it due to the documents he has had her sign. They confront him and walk away victorious.
The Other Woman is a witty chick flick that offers plenty of laughs. It is a great story for any woman who feels she has been done wrong by a man in her life at some point. There is also a secondary story line about older men falling for younger women. Don Johnson, who was a heart throb in the movies in the 80s, proves he is still attractive!
Fans seem to really love the show, but it is ironic that many of the critics were very harsh about it. They don’t feel it is the best work of Diaz or of Leslie Mann. However, the women state they loved working on the film and had so much fun it wasn’t like work at all.
In the end, it will all come down to the personal taste of the viewer. Many feel it gives women a sense of empowerment rather than despair when they find out their live wasn’t the fairy tale that they once thought it was. Some of the antics in the movie do drag out and they may seem unrealistic but overall it is an enjoyable movie to watch with friends.
