The Bridge on the River Kwai – Blu-ray™ HD Trailer

The cinematic classic has been completely remastered and is coming to Blu-ray™ November 2nd! When British POWs build a vital railway bridge in enemy-occupied Burma, Allied commandos are assigned to destroy it in David Lean’s epic World War II adventure THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI. Spectacularly produced, THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI captured the imagination of the public and won seven 1957 Academy Awards(r), including Best Picture, Best Actor (Alec Guinness), and Best Director. Even it’s theme song, an old WWII whistling tune, the Colonel Bogey March, became a massive hit. THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI continues today as one of the most memorable cinematic experiences of all time.

      I really don’t understand why they have to add in that stupid theatrical music to the trailer, it completely ruins the sense of the movie.

      This movie is an insult to all the men who were prisoners of the Japanese.
      READ the book; Prisoner of the Japanese
      This is a bad joke. Complete horseshit.

      It was protested when it came out by Brits who knew what a load of crap it was because they had been there. It wasn’t anything a Hollywood film could ever show.

      You idiot! This is one of the best films ever made.
      Its an isnult ?! Thanks to this movie, people knew about warprisoners by asians. as well. I look at this as a tribute too all those who died, people on both sides.

      @Rexicano The movie isn’t a documentary, who cares?

    10. Rexicano says

      March 5, 2011 at 3:57 pm

      @AllenbysEyes
      Yeah, who cares, certainly not an idiot like you.
      Real men had to die in that war so little brats like you can say stupid shit like…”who cares?”
      Right, who cares if History is turned into a cartoon? Now go back to watching The Simpsons and stop writing to the adults little boy.

      @steinover
      And I thought it was the American kids who had shit for brains but evidently Norwegians have some fools there too.
      So, I bet you love Hitler too portrayed as just a well intentioned guy who accidently crossed the border?
      And at 16…you just haven’t been around long enough to see that may films so a statement that this is ONE OF THE BEST….is just absurd. You clearly don’t know the difference.
      You don’t know ANYTHING about the war with the Japanese from this stupid movie, moron..

      @Rexicano There has never been a movie made, that was better than the book.
      And yes, you are right, one does not learn about war by watching movies.
      But if you click on the “show more” button, you can see it says “Seven Academy Awards in 1957, Including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director”
      Now we here on youtube might be morons who know nothing ´bout movies, but we know that Oscars are given to professionals BY professionals. THEY have seen a lot of movies, you know?

    13. Rexicano says

      March 5, 2011 at 11:49 pm

      @Yodainacan
      Well, yes you are a moron if you believe in Award Shows for judging art. Whatever the Mob likes, you like?
      But we are talking two separate points. THE BOOK is FICTION…if it’s like the film it’s pure baloney.
      Read the book by Men who served;
      Prisoners of the Japanese
      and see how off this film is.
      Believe in Hollywood nonsense if you want. You think The Hurt Locker was a better film than District 9 or Avatar? Get Real.
      A Whore is a PROFESSIONAL. Money gives veracity to nothing.

    14. Yodainacan says

      March 6, 2011 at 3:43 pm

      @Rexicano I do not wish to read the book. Why should I? Books and movies are different.
      We are talking about a film here. Not a book. The book can be good or bad. The movie can be good or bad.
      But they are different things.
      Its like you are saying “I would give you A- on this exam, but your friend is so stupid that its impossible you can get an A-, so you will get a B.”

      The movie is not real. Its entertainment. And its real good entertainment. Facts would only ruin it.

      @Rexicano
      What I mean is that, it’s interesting to watch a movie which is focuasing on other stuff about Hitler’s life for example, but be critical.
      and secondly I’m 18, and have seen 239 movies on imdb’s top 250 list, (and off course some other populer movies) and derfor can say that this is ONE of the best (In acting, directing, music everything is very good, and many other (older) movie fanatics will agree).
      Thirdly: Statistics are showing that Norwegians are a little dumber than americans :)

    16. steinover says

      March 6, 2011 at 8:39 pm

      @Rexicano

      But on tv, you see, for the most of the time, extremely stupid Americans, but there’s many kind of people in America, SO many more than in Norway. But the wildest and stupidest are probely the ones you gets on Tv.
      Another thing @Rexicano, feelings are irrational, try not too show too many feelings in a conversation or argument, but just sense. :)
