I have had a 5.1 home cinema system in a box before but found that (a) the sub-woofer was too ‘boomy’ even when turned down; and (b) the sub was too over bearing if I wanted to listen to music. I wonder if there is a system or set-up that doesn’t use, or need a sub and allows the user to switch to 2 front speakers for listening to music?

Can i connect different speakers to my home cinema?
I have Panasonic hom cinema out of the box,
can i upgrade my speakers to some B&W ones just by snipping and stripping the existing cable and souldering them to the B&W speaker cable?
or is it not as simple as this? guessing you have to match up wattage and ampage but if they did match could i just do this?
thanks alot!

Can I hook up a new dvd player to my Panasonic "home theater in a box" speakers?
My dvd player is broken and I would like to replace it. The current dvd player is a Panasonic Home Theater in a Box type thing with 5 speakers. Can I just buy a new dvd player and hook it up to the existing speakers? Thanks!

How to connect a home cinema to a blu-ray player ?
I have bought a Phillips 6 speaker system with a DVD player combined. I need to reconnect these speakers to a blu-ray player. Altogether there are 2 standing tallboy speakers, 1 large sub woofer, 2 small speakers, and a bar speaker. The Home Cinema system was bought as a whole and need to disconnect it from the DVD player it came with and plug it into a blu-ray play, how can i do this, help please.
