Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt's former bodyguard, Mark Behar, reveals to In Touch Weekly what it was like to work with the A-List stars and reacts to their custody battle drama.
Mark tells the magazine he started working for Brad Pitt while he was filming the 2005 film 'Mr & Mrs. Smith' with Angelina Jolie. After being around Brad so often, Angelina decided to hire Mark as well, and he could see Brangelina coming together.
Mark spoke about their chemistry outside of filming, saying, “It was like being in high school and passing notes between friends…they didn’t want anyone to know, and I thought it was really cool.”
Mark also add he, ''walked in on them a few times when they were being touchy-touchy feely-feely. I didn’t walk into them having sex, but I guess if I had, it would’ve been nice if I had. It was perfect movie love.”
Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston around this time, but according to Mark, things weren't great between them. He says, “[Brad] did tell me about Jennifer. He told me that the relationship wasn’t going that great and it was like a tornado came in and swept him away [with Angelina].”
Mark describes Brad as 'Intelligent', a great dad, and is much more sociable compared to Angelina who is seemingly more reserved.
Fast forward to Brad and Angelina's divorce and the custody battle over their children, Mark says he's surprised how long their relationship actually lasted. “When you’re at that status, it could be personal, it could be money, it could be because of the love of the kids, it could be bitterness. You really just don’t know. And once the camera is put in their face and they’re interviewed it’s all smiles and laughing, but behind the scenes, there are all these lawyers, and they really are fighting.”
Regarding the headlines of Angelina visiting her first ex husband, Jonny Lee Miller, after the heated custody battle with Brad Pitt, Mark claims its not unusual. “Stars in Hollywood like to stay within their circle and many of them revert to their exes. When you become famous and you’re a celebrity, you have a very small circle. It’s really tough so they stick to their inner circle. It’s common but to the normal person outside it does seem weird.”
