Is there a by-mail DVD rental service for someone who doesn't have internet (paper catalog)?
I have an older family member who does not drive. She also does not have internet. I’d like to find her a DVD rental service, but it would have to use a paper catalog from which she could choose her titles. Any ideas?
It’s easy to suggest a by-mail DVD rental service to you but the difficulty is finding one that provides a paper catalog since all that I’ve seen ask that you browse their selection on-line. And since your family member doesn’t have internet, that isn’t possible for her. So I thought of an alternate solution:
Netflix has over 60,000 titles to chose from so I’m sure your relative would be hard put to find a DVD title they wouldn’t have. Suppose you got her a DVD catalog (I’m not sure if Columbia House still sends out catalogs but that would be a good place to start), have her go through and pick all of the DVDs she would like to watch. Once her list is complied, then someone with internet service submit her picks to Netflix. Netflix allows you to submit your watch list to them and then after you send your rental DVD back, they just send you the next DVD on the list.
