For example, in the All Time Low DVD Trailer for Straight To DVD, there are some parts where their nude parts have their faces covering them. So I was wondering If they are censored in the actual DVD because if they’re not, I won’t be able to get it.
Camp says
No, the DVD is private, it will not censore it.

Whatever censorship you may see on TV commercials is due to the restriction of the channel showing it… TV stations have to abide by FCC rules, re who the target audience is, the time of night, the rating warnings on the programming surrounding the trailer, etc. DVDs, however, can be purchased by anyone. They’re considered the purest form of the show/movie. There are no laws restricting what can go on a DVD, as long as a rating is on there as a warning of what’s inside. DVD versions never have censorship in them… unless it’s intentional to be funny.

Usually trailers are cut to appeal to mass audiences. That is why at the beginning there is a green screen stating that the preview has been rated for all audiences. Occasionally you will get a red screen saying the preview is intended for mature audiences. The best way to tell if the DVD has adult themes (i.e., sexual situations, nudity, etc) is to look for the rating and it’s description on the back of the DVD case.
