Trust me Im completely against piracy of any kind.. but the reason I want to copy this dvd on my computer is because I dont have the time to see it right now.. But I dont intend to suppy it or anything.. just watch and delete.. i have to return the dvd today or it gets due..but will the rental guys find out if i have copied the dvd on my computer?n because i dont want to get into a mess!

odds are very good the dvd is encoded and you will not be able to record it. But try it, they will not find out.

Those guys will have no idea. Besides, they don’t even check the disks or anything. As long as you don’t have bad intentions, it’s no problem. Go ahead and copy it on. There’s no harm.

not only they would find out, but in dvds there is a hidden file that if you copy them directly informs the CIA instantly, and you will go to jail for 7 years, and all your property is confiscated.

I don’t see how they can! I’m sure that they don’t check the DVD or anything. Hopefully they won’t! I know someone who has done that and they never got in trouble for it! Good luck though and make the choice that you find the most reasonable. Oh, and just a reminder, that most people on yahoo answers don’t even know what they are talking about and could lie to you. They may make it seem all high tech and all that, but don’t trust them. Try and look for a more reliable source. However, I hope you make a good choice, and enjoy your movie!

they wont 4 2 reasons. 1. they can’t come into your house n 2. if you have successfully got it on your computer from the disk and can put the disk back in and pull up the movie again, you’ll b aite.

when you start to copy a dvd, your computer will leave a trace code on the dvd which in turn allows the store to track down your mac address.

Since a pressed DVD (it’s not burned, it’s made the way it is) can’t be modified (except by breaking or scratching it), it’s impossible to know what you did with it.

Generally a log is maintained on a secondary storage device(DVD,CD,USB Drive ,etc). But since DVD’s have to be writen/burned first, there is no way that They’ll find out.
