how to screen capture a DVD movie playing on the computer?

I tried super screen capture and etc, but the screen capture comes out as… black and weird colored. I think it is because of the ‘coding’ to prevent illegal copying.

Is there any way to screen capture..? I want to capture a scene from a movie and draw it.

  1. I tried 3 different programs(Camstudio ,Hypercam2 and Fraps) but there are many problems while capturing screen.but
    after using Total Screen Recorder ,I find it without any annoying recording problems.

  2. Most third-party DVD playback software allow you to screen capture frames and save them as image files (jpeg, bmp etc) here are a few;

  3. You may try this dvd tool, I know it can capture screen the DVD movie. After you load the DVD into the software and preview the DVD, there is a small camera icon below the preview windows, click it when you want to capture the current scene,

  4. You can use wondershare dvd ripper platinum, it is able to rip dvds to computer in 1:1. it is also capable to save dvd to computer in regular video format, thus you can play it in windows media player.
