I wonder when stores want to rent movies to other people, do they buy DVDs from retailers, like Best Buy, or straight from the studio in a full price? Or do they copy DVDs to blank Dvds for renting?

we buy them from distributors…they’re not really that cheaper than if you bought them from walmart or somewhere….i remember when we still have VHS…they were really expensive. there’s been a few occasions where we didnt get a particular small title and the owner thinks it’d rent…he’d go to walmart and buy a couple of em the day it is released to rent out.

Blockbuster gets their movies sent to them from a distributor in Mckinney Texas. How many copies they get depends on the demand of the movie, usually how much the movies grosses in the boxoffice is an indicator. Blockbuster generally pays $15 for each movie and $30 for each video game – former employee
