  1. LOL, I like Abram’s movies (except for Cloverfield) but I always detested this shows because they were so hokey and near impossible to suspend disbelief.

    Shylaman hasn’t done anything good since Signs and was also overrated.

  4. Nestly: As usual, Jeromy, these are exactly my thoughts on the movie. I thought it was GREAT and renewed my faith in M. Night Shymalan’s films… then I heard your first comments how his work in this film wasn’t too substantial and it all made sense!

    Anyways, I loved this movie. I’m a thrill seeking plot loving movie watcher and DEFINITELY not religious in any way, but… this movie was well done.

  9. This was M.Night Shyamalan’s only good movie for a pretty long time. Maybe, he will finally make a comeback and make a movie that is as good as “The Sixth Sense” I highly doubt it though…

    The “Shyamalan” Myth. Let us look at the facts: “Sixth Sense”, “Unbreakable”, “Signs, “The VIllage”. So, actually i enjoyed all this movies. I know, much people dont like “The Village” but it was techncally well done. So how much bad movie he made. Ask yourself ;) 1 or 2, so what?

  15. I thought devil was terrific; it Entertained, which is the whole point of a movie. I understand with some movies, plot is important, as is character development. However, this movie delivered pure enjoyment and had several cylanders firing: the action inside the elevator car, the detective story, the character’s relationships on the outside, the other characters actions, the focus on detective work vs supernatural. Hate Lady in the Water & the Village all you want, but Devil is a true winner!

  16. I didn’t get the inside joke with the picture of the little girl singing, is she someone that lost in a contest? Who is she?

    also, the title should not have been Devil since it has nothing to do with anything having to do with whatever definition of devil there is. The definition of the killer was more like Grim Reaper, but I think Devil is more of an attractive title for movie-goers.

  20. @reformedman lol the little gurl had an AMAXING talent to sing and perform in america’s got talent ( a contest show for talent) and she lost second to some guy who wasn’t as good and i think this guy was just making fun of her for being so good and loosing, idk, but she didn’t sell her soul, it was more of a joke with out humor :P

  22. I never expected this movie to be as good as it was…I mean really good for what I expected! What a good surprise…Well acted, well scripted, and a great ending! Hopefully Shamalan can keep it up and get his shit together. Id hate to see him go back to making crap after such a cool movie! Definately dont pass it up cause the name or plot sounds simple…I think a lot of people will like this movie if they give it a chance
