Date Night
We all enjoy going out on a date with our significant other, right? It’s a great way to break up the monotony of an otherwise routine life–go to work, mow the lawn, take care of the kids, go to bed, do it all again. That’s why the movie Date Night is so appealing – we all know how much a couple enjoys adding a bit of romance to an otherwise mundane lifestyle.
But Date Night has a twist to it, and hilarity ensues when Phil (Steve Carell) and Claire (Tina Fey) head to the city for a night on their own. The newest and trendiest restaurant awaits, but there is no way for them to get a table. Until they decide to take advantage of a golden opportunity, and that’s when the adventure begins.
In a case of mistaken identity, Phil and Claire fine themselves mixed up with the mob and being pursued by both gangsters and police, for a flash drive that is in the hands of another couple. An all-star cast that displays excellent chemistry includes Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Ray Liotta, and Common. Together with Fey (Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock) and Carell (The Office), they turn this Date Night into one unforgettable night.
In Date Night, you can expect nothing but smart and sometimes over the top comedy. You’ll hear some very funny dialogue and witness some scenes that will leave stitches in your side from laughing so hard.
If you’re a fan of Fey and Carell, you’ll find them at their best portraying a somewhat bored, but ultimately in love, a married couple who just wanted a nice evening out, and got much more than they bargained for.
