Dancing with the Stars
One of the most loved competition shows on TV is Dancing with the Stars. The show has been on the air since 2005 and has a strong following. Part of the appeal is that the audience can vote who will stay. They feel like they must watch and they must vote if the couples they adore the most aren’t going to get eliminated. There are also judges that score each pair of dancers, and those scores are combined with the audience contributions to determine who goes home.
The show has a strong contribution of great performers too. Many of them are professional dancers, athletes, or actors/actresses. There are people that will always watch the show but also those that tune in just because someone they would love to see perform is a part of the show. Ratings can sometimes look like a rollercoaster for the show depending on who is a part of it at a given point in time.
Each couple consists of one professional dancer and one celebrity. There are various categories of competition that they go through each week on the show. The music, the choreography, and the costumes are all part of the appeal. Dancing with the Stars is a commonly trending topic on social media the day after a new episode is aired.
As the weeks progress, people seem to tune in for the finale at higher numbers. There is a great deal of anticipation as it gets closer to the winners being announced. The show has continued to offer some fresh and unique forms of dance and new people to take part in the show so that the audience won’t get bored with it.
Tom Bergoron has been the host of Dancing with the Stars since the show began. There have been four co-hosts for the show. Lisa Canning was only in that role for the first season. Samantha Harris was present for seasons 2 – 9. Brooke Burke –Charvet was the co-host for seasons 10-17. Erin Andrews is the current co-host.
The show continues to honor music and those that have contributed to the world of music. One of the appealing aspects of Dancing with the Stars is how it honors such individuals. For example, they aired an episode that was in honor of Patrick Swayze. Another show was done in the honor of Michael Jackson. When Cher was a guest judge, all of the couples danced to her songs.
