Felix Bach broke his erg at the start of his heat with the other top Junior Men. I did not capture that on video and am very, very sad about it. That incident may have kept Felix from setting a Junior Men’s world record, but he ends up winning by over 25 seconds faster than the second place guy. After breaking his erg, Felix rowed in the next event, with the lightweight girls. Felix is a big guy, maybe 6′- 8″ or so. Felix pulled 5:51.8, a personal best, which comes to a power rate of around 515 Watts. The audio from the announcers also gives you a ton of info. Also, notice his damper setting.
