Basically i need a new computer but cant afford the £1299.00 macs and i want to start doing animation regularly. If you cant by the monitor seperatley and use the led cinema display as a computer are there another suggestions of computers that are good for animation and creating computer art?

Ok, First, if your LED cinema display has an input, you could use that display as your compute monitor display. Although, there are some catches. For one, you need to make sure the display is good enough to output a good quality. Some projectors have a computer input, but it’s limited in resolution compared to what a computer monitor could display.
It’s a good idea to have both a computer monitor and a projector. Have the monitor for what you’ll be setting up the play back on, and the projector to do the actual outputting that everyone else sees. That way, they don’t see you clicking on whatever file it is, and any other semi-private information.
As far as what computer is good for animation and creating art, that depends on how much you want to spend. You can do animation/computer art on almost any computer, but depending on how serious you are depends on how much you should spend. a £500 computer can do just as much as a £1300 computer, however, if you’re working with large files or videos, then the £500 computer would be so slow, it would take you 20 times longer to create/work with. Macs are known for being much easier and stable to work with when it comes to creating "computer art", but the "Wintel" combination can be much cheaper while having similar results.
Lastly, we cannot recommend any specifics since "computer art" and "computer animation" are vague terms. Are you primarily working with video, creating 3d rendering, creating still frame pictures, or editing photographs? Each of those types of art require different hardware/computer requirements. So it’s better to be more specific in asking what you want to accomplish.
