My westinghouse Tv wont spit out my dvd rental….?
I was watching a movie and when I was done with it I click the button to take it out and nothing happen (it has a build in dvd player) what do I do if I can’t get it out than the place will charge me for that movie
Hopefully the software has locked up and it’s not jammed mechanically.
Turn the TV off and unplug it for a few minutes. Then plug it in again and keep pressing the eject button about once a second for 60 seconds or a little more. Hopefully you might get it to eject before the disk is loaded again – This works if the disk is scratched and causes a software lock-up.
There is often a tiny hole you can jam a straightened-out paperclip into and by pushing it in repeatedly. You are pressing against the teeth of a cog wheel inside that will manually open the draw very slowly.
If this does not work, or there is no hole in the flap, it looks like you will have to try forcing it and risk breaking the DVD player of the TV. Even if you leave the DVD in there, you still won’t be able to use the player section anyway.
A good repair man will be able to get it out without further damage, but they will charge you for doing it and it might be that the DVD player is broken anyway and that is why it will not give you the disk back.
Sorry it’s not better news, but I hope it is just a software lock-up and that cycling the power will get it back for you…
